Global-shutter camera
A camera that exposes every pixel simultaneously, avoiding rolling-shutter skew.
Definition
A global-shutter camera exposes all pixels at the same instant, unlike a rolling shutter that scans line by line. During fast head or hand motion this prevents the skew and wobble that would otherwise misalign pixels with depth and pose.

Why it matters
Egocentric capture is full of fast motion. Rolling-shutter artifacts corrupt geometry exactly when the hand is moving quickly — the frames you most want to learn from.
