Off-the-Shelf Multi-View Egocentric Video Data

Last reviewed:

Short answer

Off-the-shelf multi-view egocentric video records the same task from several cameras at once. The library’s multi-view set is 1,000 hours from five action cameras, one egocentric, two on the wrists and two third-person, with IMU, covering warehouse packing, retail shelving, inspection and machine work. Pricing is a custom quote.

One viewpoint always hides something. Multi-view capture pairs the worker’s own view with close wrist views and outside views of the same moment.

What is multi-view egocentric video?

It is one task recorded by several cameras at the same time. Here, a head-mounted camera captures what the worker sees, two wrist cameras capture the hands up close, and two third-person cameras capture the whole body and workspace.

Why do wrist and third-person views help robot learning?

Hands often block the head camera’s view of the object at the moment of grasp. Wrist cameras see that contact directly, and they are similar to the wrist cameras many robot arms carry. Third-person views add body posture and the layout of the workspace, which the first-person view cannot show.

Together, the views let a model connect what the worker saw, what the hands did and how the whole body moved during the same moment of the task.

Which tasks does the multi-view set cover?

Warehouse packing, retail shelving, inspection and machine work, recorded in India. For other tasks or regions, custom collection is available on the same rigs.
